Trauma Psychologist
I am a trauma psychologist and an Assistant Professor at the Boston University School of Medicine (Psychiatry)/ Boston Medical Center.
I am a licensed psychologist with more than 20 years of clinical and teaching experience combined. I am a founding member of the Division 56 (Trauma Psychology) of the American Psychological Association (APA).
My clinical and research interests are on the intersection of psychological trauma and culture; immigrants and refugee mental health; mental health disparities; multicultural and international psychology; somatic therapies, and mindfulness and spirituality. I am currently an Associate Editor for the Journal of Psychological Trauma.
I am bilingual in English and Spanish and speak conversational Arabic and French. I hold a Yoga Teacher certification (CYT500), I am a graduate of the Triyana Buddhist Studies program, and I am currently obtaining a certification in Sowa Rigpa (Tibetan Medicine) in the Family Counseling concentration.
